Summer Makeup Tips

FashionMakeupTrending

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to make some changes to your daily makeup routine. Summer is the time when we ditch heavy foundation and dark colors in exchange for bright hues and products with dewy finishes. To help you get your makeup routine ready for warm weather, here are some of the top summer makeup tips.

Protect Your Skin

Sadly, a lot of girls skip sun protection in an effort to get a tan. While your tan might look lovely in the short term, it can set you up for some serious health problems down the road, such as cancer. Be sure to use sunscreen every single day. If you want some color, fake it with bronzer.

Use A Lighter Foundation

Cream and stick foundations are fun for contouring, but they’re simply too heavy to wear to the beach. Ditch your heavy, matte finish foundation and instead opt for a tinted moisturizer or BB cream. These products give you enough color to cover your imperfections without sitting too heavily on the skin.

Don’t Forget To Moisturize

In the summer, our skin can be at its oiliest. However, it’s a myth that you should skip moisturizer if you have oily skin. When you allow your oily skin to become dehydrated, your body can believe itself to be in a drought and actually produce more oil to compensate. Avoid this by using a light moisturizer twice a day. Don’t forget to moisturize your lips, either. We recommend an EOS lip balm in a fun, fruity flavor.

Use Waterproof Products

No one wants to put time into their makeup only to have their entire look run down their face due to the hot weather. Avoid this by using waterproof makeup products. You can find eyeliners and mascaras that have waterproof finishes, which means that they’ll stand up to humidity.

Combat Excess Oil

Even if you’re going for a dewy finish, you don’t want to look oily. Carry a pressed powder or some oil-blotting sheets in your bag. This is a great way to combat oil throughout the day and keep your makeup looking lovely.

Have Fun With Your Products

Summer is the time to ditch heavy makeup and have some fun. Express yourself with fun creamy eye shadows and fruity lip glosses. Save the heavy looks for fall and instead go with looks that are light, carefree and perfect for a day at the beach.
